Head of Dessie diocese arrested

Head of the Dessie Diocese, Aba Gebre Silassie was arrested on charges of ‘inciting violence’ that caused the death of three people in the town last week, according to Addis Neger.
Police in Dessie town have shot and killed two young people who were among the crowd demonstrating to demand authorization to rebuild St. Arsema church, five kms away from the town. Another elderly woman reportedly fell off from a cliff.
Around ten thousand Orthodox Christian followers have been walking to the mayor’s office when the police started firing.Several other people were hurt in the violence.

    I hope the people of Dessie will be wise enough enough not to engage in relegious conflict instigated by the government. They should also be wise enough to defend thier beloved relegious leader Aba Gebre Silassie.

    election is coming, security forces need to do their job by terroizing the people and causing violence between peace loving people.We all know what the weyane gangists are doing since they took the power,my fellow christians and muslim brothers don’t panic and do not stand to fulfill weyane’s desire.

    In a few weeks I will go to Dessie, I hope find people living in peace. The live is enough hard, we dont need religous or etnic conflict

    We all sorry about the thing which take place currentyly about conflict due to reilgion …………this all about the effect of divesifcation bettween the pop Realy this is the darkest time for EOTC………..sorry
