Guilty!

It is a sad day in Ethiopia!

A guilty verdict has been passed in Teddy Afro’s case.

Teddy faces the prospect of spending ten to fifteen years  in prison after he was found guilty on what many say was a bogus charge of vehicular manslaughter this afternoon.

The court set sentencing for this Friday.

The poople is sad. But what can do de people against that?

  17. December 2, 2008 at 1:19 pm

Exactly my point, binyam. It’s as if EPRDF if going out it’s way to antagonize people and prove it’s hai baai yaata ‘yemender GulBe’. I really believed they’d do the right thing this time, find him guilty for drunk driving and driving without a license, but drop the manslaughter charge. After the Cuban doctor’s testimony, it simply couldn’t hold water. Now they did this, one can only wonder if this a classical case of auto-phobia. Those who hate themselves, I’ve read somewhere, try to turn everyone against themselves [i.e. the self they hate]. Or is it the case of those who do not learn from history repeating it?! Met’ne!

If you try to check out our blogs before calling us names, you’d understand some of us have indeed raised our voices in protest. True, we haven’t gone out a-protesting, missing the heroic and/or suicidal bones. Still.. “yalewun yewerewere nifug ayibalem”, what 😉 ?
