Our focus is the young: Patriarch

abune“The history of Ethiopian Orthodox Church is well known by the outside world. Our concern is no so much educating the foreign public about which many of whom already are informed through one way or another as instilling the values to our young flocks. We want young people to follow in the footsteps of their forefathers. They are the ones that we want to reach too.”

His Holiness Abune Paulos, Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahdo Church in a rare interview with the Amharic weekly, Addis Admass.

The patriarch made many references to peace, love, unity, charity and tolerance. Read the whole interview here.

Our patriarch said it on the right word. I agree on everthing he said except … his saying of “having democracy in Ethiopia”

Pople who are not orthodox always denouce the patriarch, because they want us [Orthodox Chirstians] to be weaken by fighting each other.

All protestant leaders and Muslim leaders also work hand in hand the current regime, but No one tried to denouce them. [ because if you do, muslims/protestants will defend them openly] … But we so called orthodox members ..umm there is something wrong with us. We are still blind .

Remember, BUSH is hated by almost all Americans! but when the Venzuela’s president insult him, all Americans even those who openly oppose Bush defend him .. you know what they say …. [what ever he does, it is only us who has the right to say what ever we want .. not you shuvo!]

That is something we need to learn. Let’s deal our own problem. Why we let other to insult us?
