Brian Adkins was one of my best friends, who I knew for years. He was an upstanding citizen, a devout Catholic, and the very image of strong moral character. He was a brilliant man, gifted with amazing linguistic and communicative skills, who wanted nothing more than to use these gifts to better relations between the United States and Ethiopia.

Brian was killed in cold blood over a matter of a few dollars. I do not judge your country for this, because frankly, it happens in my own all too often. However, the man who committed this heinous act has been found guilty and will now serve his punishment.

The perpetuation of such malicious and sickening allegations only serve to deepen the sorrow of a family which has already suffered quite enough. For the sake of the Adkins family, please put these horrible rumors to rest.
