Teddy Afro the film actor?

Teddy Afro is looking for ways to diversify his life, and I’m not talking about charity (Though he has also started promoting worthy causes) or opening a new club. 

After conquering the Ethiopian music industry, the young music sensation says that he is now considering breaking through to the other side: film.

In an interview he gave to ‘Tebeta‘, a monthly Amharic magazine, the accompished singer and songwriter declared his taste for films and said he wished to act in the local Amharic movies.

Saying that  Gudifecha and Hermela are his favorites Amharic movies, Teddy revealed that he wanted to find a new challenge in the fledging Amharic film industry.

Teddy who exceeded expectations in a concert two weeks ago here in Addis discussed his life, his craft, his passion and his fear in the magazine’s special issue devoted exclusively to him.

The singer expressed his admiration for the stage actor and film actor, Fekadu Tekle Mariam and the late stage actor Wegayehu Negatu.

The life of Teddy has long been a fascinating and profitable tale to tell but ‘Tebeta‘ took it to the extreme this morning coming with special 38-pages issue carrying interviews with a multitude of people, including the singer’s mother, his longtime friends and allies, a veteran singer Tilahun Gessesee, athlet Haile Gebresellasie and female singer Kuku Sebsebe all speaking about their relationship with the singer and their impression of  him.

Teddy didn’t say if he wants to play good or bad guy if he really goes into acting.

Talking about his other passion, which is reading novels,Teddy said he has an unboundless admiration for Haddis Alemayeu and ‘Fikir Eskemekaber’ is his all time favorite. He recalled to having reading it more than nine times.

Teddy also singled out Tsegaye Gebre Medhen and Sebhat Gebre Egzabher for praise.
