I am very saddened to hear that Anthony Mitchell, a Nairobi-based Assocated Press journalist is among the passengers in the Kenya Airways jetliner that crashed with 114 people.I am sorry to hear of his passing and my prayers go out to his family.
Anthony is a respected and prominent journalist and he was based in Addis Ababa before the Ethiopian governmnet known for its aversion for truth and crtiticim kicked him out of country.I didn’t know him personally but his reporting that I’ve read on varous occasions showed me his brilliance, work ethic, passion for his work.

Indeed he was a very respected journalist and respectable Ethiopia-loving person. When I met him last year in Nairobi, he talked about Ethiopia in very good terms. He had a fantastic image of life in Addis.

Indeed he was a very respected journalist and respectable Ethiopia-loving person. When I met him last year in Nairobi -after he was kicked out like a troublemaker-, he talked about Ethiopia in very good terms. He had a fantastic image of life in Addis. And he wanted to come back.
It is truly sad to hear that the warmongerers are still alive and he is gone.
I wished he could have seen Ethiopia in more glorious times.
